Flower Decoration in the House
Gertrude Jekyll gives a month-by-month advice about the best use of flowers and foliage in the house, including the position and colour of floral decoration for various rooms. There is also a chapter about vases and holders for plants.
In her preface, she writes that ‘in offering some suggestions on the use of flowers in house decorations, the writer is aware how well the matter is already understood in many households’.
The book is offered mainly to those who have not had much practice, while it may at the same time remind the more advanced of a few details that have been overlooked’.
